A Sad Story

Bush and Cheney are digging in ahead of a Senate vote on the Iraq bill that the President has vowed to veto. It's been a crummy week in Iraq. Here's a little vignette that the WaPo just published about some American soldiers, an abandoned spaghetti factory, and a body in a septic tank. This is the reality there. Respect the dignity of reality, people!

Why is it a "crummy week in Iraq?" Because US soldiers are dying in larger numbers? Does not make me sad. They are soldiers occupying a foreign country. The Iraqi people have a right to resist foreign occupation just as the Palestinians have a right to resist foreign occupation.

I do not relish in anyone's death, but my tears are for the almost one million Iraqis the US government has killed in the last four years in an immoral war for oil and Israel.

I also consider it another example of Western racism when focus and attention is directed toward invading soldiers (less than 4 thousand dead), and the lives of Iraqis goes unmentioned. They often also mention the billions in US dollars this war has cost, but say nothing about the Iraqi blood spilled.

The war was illegal and immoral. The Iraqis have a right to resist foreign occupation, and the whole chaos in Iraq is the responsibility of the US government. If there was justice in this world Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and the others would be sent to the Hague and put on trial along with the Pig Sharon, may he rot in hell after he finishes rotting in a hospital.
